Stefanía Pálsdóttir, Starri Holm and Rún Árnadóttir are virgin orchestra: an experimental post-punk band based in Reykjavík. They first met as students in the music department of the Icelandic University of the Arts; three dissimilar but like-minded musicians brought about one of the most exciting musical ventures in Iceland. Their individual styles are very different, but they share the same vision and the love for experimental music and post-punk; their musical style combines post-punk with electronic, dream-pop and noise as they draw on a range of disparate influences from The Cure, My Bloody Valentine and The Velvet Underground to Dmitri Shostakovich and Delia Derbyshire. 

They spent a month in Berlin summer of 2022 where they performed their first show and recorded their first full length album “fragments” at Funkhaus studios. The album was released in May the following year with the Icelandic label Smekkleysa, known for artists like Björk, Sigur Rós and Singapore Sling.
